Design and Manufacturing Aspects of a Lightweight Racing Electric Vehicle

With the rapid development of the electric vehicle industry, academic and industrial studies have also gained importance. In particular, efforts have been made to develop electric and hybrid electric vehicles and to make them more efficient. The production of traditional fossil fuel vehicles in the automotive industry has slowed down with the pandemic. Since fossil fuels are also disadvantageous in terms of carbon emissions and have negative effects on global warming, studies to reduce carbon emissions have gained value. In this context, various countries have played an important role in the development of electric vehicle technology by organizing various initiatives and organizations in both academic and industrial fields. In this study, various experiences about the electrical and mechanical design and production of a prototype electric vehicle designed for intercollegiate races organized to develop the electric vehicle industry are shared.
