Trust-based Energy Aware Routing Protocol to Improve Network Lifetime in CRNs

Cognitive Radio Networks (CRN) have received widespread support as a possible approach to reduce spectrum under-utilization. The traditional static spectrum allocation approach has been replaced by dynamic spectrum allocation (DSA) thanks to CRNs. CRNs can now detect idle, licensed bands, allowing secondary users (SUs) to transmit while causing little interruption to prime users (PUs). To improving energy monitoring, the CRN considers the reactive security policy at the time of utilizing the idle primary channels. Data communication becomes a challenging process when utilizing the moderate energy level to transmit the information securely over CRN because the intruders are mostly aimed to make network attacks to minimize the PU or SU's energy level. Hence, the security-aware data transmission model in CRN with energy harvesting is developed. The Dynamic Ladybird Beetle Optimization Algorithm (D-LBOA), a unique optimization algorithm, is used to discover the best routing path between the source node and the destination node using the best energy harvesting model, which helps to extend the lifetime of the network. The optimal route is chosen depending on the ability to offer trustworthy energy-efficient data transmission, in which the optimal path meets the multi-objective function with constraints such as "trust computation, throughput, and outage probability." In comparison to other standard protocols, simulation of the proposed CRN routing algorithm improves network performance and ensures greater security.
