Design of Planar Ultra Wideband Antenna with C-Shaped Slot for Band Notched Characteristics

We propose an ultrawideband (UWB) conventional coplanar waveguide (CPW) fed antenna with 1.575 GHz band notched characteristics. To provide bad-rejection functionality at 1.575GHz, it comprises of a C-shaped slot on the radiating patch. The proposed antenna is successfully constructed, simulated, and tested, displaying matching impedance, consistent radiation patterns, and constant gain. To describe the single band-notched UWB antenna’s mechanism, an analogous circuit model of the proposed antenna is shown.
