The Effects of Different Mains Frequency Values on Conducted Emission Tests According to CISPR 32

Conducted emission test is a requirement for all electronic devices operating from mains network. CISPR 32 is an Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) standard which defines all general emission requirements for multimedia equipment. According to CISPR 32, if an equipment is able to operate at more than one mains frequency, performing test will be enough at one of them. However, the design structures of electronic equipment vary with changing mains frequency. This paper presents the necessity of performing conducted emission tests at both mains frequency. Therefore, conducted emission measurements have been investigated for a digital signage monitor and television by using more than one mains frequency without changing the mains voltage in this study.
