How Important is Workload Affect Occupational Frustration? A Bibliometrics Analysis

This study presents a bibliometrics analysis and scientific mapping of research on workload and occupational frustration within the field of organizational behavior from 2001 to 2023. Data from the Scopus database were analyzed using VOSviewer software. The study explores publication trends, identifies the most productive authors, countries, and publication sources, and analyzes keyword co-occurrence. Findings reveal increasing publication fluctuations, with the highest number of publications in 2022 (111 documents). Spector P.E emerges as the most productive author with 21 articles, and Fox S (2001) as the most cited author with 779 citations. The United States is the most productive country with 36 articles and 8,891 citations. The Journal of Occupational Health Psychology is the most productive publication source with 13 articles, while the Journal of Vocational Behavior leads in citation count with 1,815 citations. Keyword analysis highlights stress, workload, and job satisfaction as frequently mentioned keywords. This study contributes to the understanding of workload and occupational frustration in organizational behavior. It emphasizes the need for further research, particularly in Indonesia where the topic remains underexplored compared to international studies, enabling organizations to develop effective interventions, optimize workload distribution, and enhance employee well-being. Future scholars, particularly in Indonesia, are encouraged to contribute to the literature in this field.
