Exploring the Dynamics of Team Formation in Human-Artificial Intelligence Collaboration

The emergence of collaborative human-artificial intelligence is a promising approach for improving team performance. This study intends to analyze the models of team formation and draw the lines for human and artificial intelligence collaboration. By investigating the existing models of the stages of human-human team development, the study highlights the characteristics of team development stages and explores the prospect of having human-artificial intelligence teams instead throughout the stages to ensure better humanartificial intelligence communication and team cohesion. Considering the unique nature of human-artificial intelligence interaction, the study identifies a number of characteristics that are applicable to the scenario of team development when teams consisting of humans and artificial intelligence are employed.
