Open Innovation System Theory Approach

This paper aims to explain the open innovation (OI) process using systems theory, showing (a) pathways towards their further development and (b) explaining evolutionary developments. We introduce a meta-view of the two disciplinary poles, i open innovation and ii evolutionary system, system order principles, and system stability. We apply then ii to i or OI using eight explaining Axioms. Finally, we give examples of how to use this axiomatic method in an innovation process and a practical OI method.
