Calculation and Analysis of the Number of Nodes Constructing Underwater Sensor Barrier Deployed with Regular Polygon

To construct underwater warning and monitoring network in traffic direction restricted situations such as straits and ports, complex three-dimensional area coverage problem can be simplified as a three-dimensional underwater sensor barrier coverage problem. The sensor node detection model and coverage model are provided in the paper. Then the regular polygon non-loophole deployed nodes coverage model is discussed. The minimum number of sensor nodes deployed with non-loophole for a specific rectangle area are calculated by analytical method based on the model. The number of sensor nodes deployed with non-loophole for a specific trapezoid area is calculated by the same thought. According to the calculation results, it can be judged whether non-loophole coverage can be achieved, or optimization methods is necessary for specific number of sensor nodes to cover a rectangle area or a trapezoid area.
