A Dual-Band Vivaldi Antenna with High Stable Gain and Notched-Band Characteristics for 5G mm-Wave Application

In this letter, a novel dual-band vivaldi antenna with high stable gain and notched-band characteristics is proposed for 5G mm-Wave application. A pair of bent stub-loaded resonators are introduced on both sides of the dual-slot vivaldi antenna’s feedline to form the notch band. And the central frequency of stopband can be tuned independently by controlling the resonance modes. Bending the branches of the resonator enables miniaturization of the resonator. The proposed antenna achieves a wideband characteristic from 21.59-49 GHz with a notch band from 32-36 GHz, which covers the 5G mm-wave application (24.25-29.5 GHz, 37-43.5 GHz). It features with stable high gain and radiation patterns in the whole working band.
