The Physical Implementation of Electromagnetic Inverse Design Method Based on Metal-Only Transmitarray Antenna

This conference paper presents the physical implementation of the inverse design method based on spectral analysis starting from phaseless radiation pattern, utilizing a meta-only transmitarray antenna (MOTA). Specifically, the aperture field designed by the method was achieved by MOTA which is composed of metal-only unit cells (MOUCs) whose transmission magnitude and phase can be independently adjusted by varying their physical dimensions. The simulation results are in good agreement with expectations, confirming the correctness of the inverse design method and demonstrating a successful attempt at the physical implementation of inverse design.
