High Efficiency Leaky-Wave Antenna with Equiangular Spiral Slots

In this paper, a novel leaky-wave antenna (LWA) with equiangular spiral slots is presented. Compared with the traditional transverse slot, the equiangular spiral slot has longer and wider radiation aperture which generates larger energy leakage, thus improving the radiation efficiency. The antenna is designed with 11 equiangular spiral slots, and the simulation results show that the radiation efficiency is more than 90% in the operating frequency band of 29.5-35 GHz.
