Design of Ultra-miniaturized Millimeter-Wave Dual-Band Bandpass Filter Chip Based on IPD Technology

This paper presents a novel and simple hybrid structure of lumped element and distributed element to realize an ultra-miniaturized millimeter-wave dual-band bandpass filter (D-BPF) based on the integrated passive device (IPD) technology. Six capacitors, two inductors and two short-circuited stubs generate two passbands on the both sides of the center frequency, and simultaneously generate five transmission zeros to ensure the roll-off and four transmission poles. Based on the IPD process which can fabricate lumped components of micron scale, the ultra-miniaturized filter operating in millimeter-wave bands of 10.3 GHz-13.6 GHz and 34.1 GHz-39.3 GHz is fabricated.
