Structural Design and Thermal Analysis of a Solid-state Terahertz Multiplier Source

Terahertz waves are electromagnetic waves that lie between microwave and infrared light in the electromagnetic spectrum. They have been identified as one of the top ten most valuable technologies that will transform the world in the future. There are two primary methods for generating terahertz signals, namely through the disciplines of electronics or phonetics. The solid-state terahertz multiplier source, which utilizes semiconductor technology, is widely adopted due to its compact structure, high power efficiency, and room temperature stability. However, appropriate structural design and excellent heat dissipation are crucial for ensuring its optimal performance. In this paper, we present a three-stage structural design of the terahertz multiplier source, which includes mechanical modal analysis, thermal simulation, and experimental verification. The results confirm the feasibility and rationality of the proposed structural design.
