Wideband Magnetoelectric Dipole of Pure Metal Low Profile with Simple Feed

A wideband low profile magneto-electric dipole with simple coaxial feed is proposed in this paper. The main structure of the magneto-electric dipole antenna is composed of an E dipole with a dipping angle of 16°and an M-dipole with a folded structure perpendicular to the floor. At the same time, two symmetrically distributed meander slots are designed on the middle floor of the two M-dipoles to extend the current path and thus reduce the profile. In order to minimize the impact of reduced profiles on bandwidth and gain of the section plan, in addition to dipping the E dipole down and cutting the angle, it is slotted at the strong current point of the M-dipole. The antenna is backed with a corrugated cavity to obtain unidirectional radiation with high front-to-back ratio. Simulation results show that the proposed antenna size is 0.52λ

, the profile height was significantly reduced. At 2.45GHz, | S11 | ≤ - 10dB impedance bandwidth is 1.79GHz to 3.19GHz, relative bandwidth is 57%, and stable gain is 8.3 ± 1.2dBic. In addition, the half power beam width of E-plane is 75.8°, and the half power beam width of H-plane is 73.1°.
