Capacity Analysis of the MIMO System under IFTR Fading

In this paper, we investigate the capacity for a multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) system with M transmitting antennas and N receiving antennas, considering its channels are subjected to the independent fluctuating two-ray (IFTR) distribution. We compare the capacity performance of the considered system under the IFTR channel with that under Rayleigh, Rician, and two-wave with diffuse power (TWDP) channels. The influence of the number of transmitting and receiving antennas on the performance of the constructed MIMO system is studied. To evaluate the performance of the constructed system, we derive the expressions of the upper and lower bound of the channel capacity and verify the correctness through simulation results.
