Automotive Millimeter Wave Radar Imaging Techniques

With the rapid development of science and technology, autonomous driving is gradually moving from theoretical research to engineering reality. Millimeter-wave (MMW) radars, Lidars, cameras, and other sensors form the core of environmental perception for autonomous vehicles and Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS). While cameras offer low cost and rich information, they are not easy to use in conditions of poor illumination and climate. Lidar has strong long-range detection and measurement accuracy but is expensive and not suitable for large-scale application. In contrast, MMW radar has long-distance detection, small volume, moderate cost, all-weather capability, and strong ability to penetrate rain, fog, haze, and smoke, making it an important part of many automotive sensors.
