DOA/RSS Joint Estimation Method Based on Iterative Maximally Sparse Convex Optimization

Electromagnetic interference (EMI) source localization is an important topic in electromagnetic compatibility (EMC). Received signal strength (RSS) and direction of arrival (DOA) information are often used for localization. In order to overcome the difficulty of multi-sources localization when DOA or RSS is used alone, a DOA/RSS joint estimation method is proposed based on sparse recovery framework and iterative maximally sparse convex (IMSC) optimization. The proposed method maximizes the non-convexity of the penalty function while ensuring that the objective function is convex, which makes the RSS estimation more accurate. The simulation results reveal that the proposed method can accurately estimate the DOA and RSS for multi-sources.
