Design of a Dual-Polarized Frequency Selected Absorber with Notch Band

A frequency selected surface structure with dual-polarized notch-band is proposed in this paper. A lossy layer and a ground layer compose the structure, which is separated by an air layer. The lossy layer formed by dipole-shaped metal structure, which is connected by resistance, can reach broadband absorption. By loading a circle slot on the dipole arms, a notch frequency is formed within the absorption band in dual polarization. The ground layer, which consist of rectangular patch and PEC layer, is designed to couple with the lossy layer to achieve a dual-polarized flat notch band. Simulation results show that the notch band with good reflect property ranges from 5.89 to 6.82 GHz, and the absorption band is divided into two bands which range from 3.98 to 5.8GHz and 7.16 to 9.87 GHz, respectively.
