Application of Particle Swarm Optimization Algorithm for Fractional Order Controller

This research work presents a novel Particle Swarm Optimization-based enhancement technique for Fractional Order PID (FOPID) controllers. For FOPID controllers, fractional calculus can offer a unique and higher performance extension. However, the difficulties in creating FOPID controllers increase since they add integral and derivative orders compared to traditional PID controllers. The extended PSO technique is used to determine the settings of FOPID controllers because it ensures that particles will be located within the specified search spaces. The primary objective of this work is to apply the frequency domain and particle swarm optimization approaches for the fractional order controller.
