A Smart Organ Transportation Box (OTB) Using Microcontroller

This research study intends to transport organs in an innovative and inexpensive way. The proposed system includes a temperature sensor to monitor temperature, a humidity sensor to monitor humidity level in the organ carrying box, a wireless GSM system to transmit the temperature and humidity levels of the organ box to a remote patient house, hospital, nurses, or doctors to know and control the temperature and humidity of the organ carrying box to protect the organ in good condition, and a global positioning system (GPS) to track t while in transit. It is a microcontroller-based system that uses a PIC microcontroller that operates with 5-volt DC power and connects all peripherals like temperature and humidity sensors as inputs and GSM, GPS, and a buzzer as outputs. In conclusion, the newly designed prototype model is effectively used for measurement and control of the temperature and humidity of the organ box and transmits the status of these parameters to remote mobile devices and computers to monitor and keep the organ variables within the desired range and to locate the vehicle in emergencies during transportation.
