Analysing the Demand and Forecasting the Number of Applicants at Ivan Franko National University of Lviv

The 2018-2022 admission campaigns at the Ivan Franko National University of Lviv were analyzed by faculty. In particular, the authors identified the most popular faculties among university entrants, estimated the number of applicants enrolled in the bachelor’s degree programs, and analyzed their competitive indicators. A data processing and visualization software package with the application of the log-normal distribution was used for the statistical analysis of the data. Data extrapolation was done using the information and numerical methods, which made it possible to predict the number of applicants to the selected faculties in 2023 and to assess the demand for certain majors among applicants.
