Evaluation of the Activity of Neuron-Astrocytic Networks by the Equivalent Rewiring Probability of the Calcium Signal Propagation Dynamic Graph

Small world networks are networks with a regular structure and a small number of hops, allowing the signal to propagate over long distances. In the Watts-Strogatz model, the network type is determined by the rewiring probability. To understand whether a real network is a small world network, its rewiring parameter is determined. To do this, we search for the rewiring probability for the Watts-Strogatz graph, which has a compactness measure that is closest to the real graph. This algorithm was applied to networks obtained from in vivo calcium imaging of neuronal networks and in vitro mouse hippocampal astrocytic cultures.
