Model-Order Reduction of the Full-Wave Method of Moments System by a Static-Mode Extraction

An accelerated method for solving the system of equations resulting from the method of moments (MoM) is presented. By extracting the static modes from the system matrix, the order of the system of equations to be solved can be significantly reduced. The influence of the static modes is described by the inductive behavior of the system and can therefore be accounted for afterwards by a single quasi-static calculation. The error arising from the neglected coupling between static and resonant modes is investigated and an estimate for it is formulated. The method is validated by full-wave reference simulations.
