EMI Radiated Emission Prediction of Full Bridge Inverter

In recent trends, modular multilevel converters are widely used in Flexible AC Transmission Systems (FACTS). These converters consist of numerous sub-modules that perform nonlinear switching operations, resulting in electromagnetic interference (EMI) issues. However, due to high voltage, grid connected system, and safety considerations, troubleshooting EMI problems at the testing level is not feasible. In this paper, we have modeled the parasitic components of the Full Bridge Inverter used in modular multi-level converter (MMC) and verify its operational state through transient analysis in the time domain. The results of the time domain analysis are compared with EMI measurements obtained through 3D analysis, and the methodology is described.
