Automated Inductance and Resistance Measurement of Electric Motor Windings - An Engineering Guide

The presented paper is focused on electric motor windings impedance measurement using an auto-balancing bridge. At first, the principle of measurement is introduced along with the essential calculations. Next, the practical implementation of given calculations is described. In the experimental section, the hardware with a 1 kHz AC and a DC measurement voltage is introduced. The measurement waveforms and results document the suitability of the presented method for electric motor windings impedance measurement.
