The Architecture Of Manufacturing Operation Management System In Gas Processing Facility

Gas Processing Facility (GPF) is complex and capital-intensive operation that relies on advanced technology deployment. To achieve their production and operational goals, it is necessary for GPFs to implement a Manufacturing Operation Management System (MOMS) after establishment of Process Control System (PCS) and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP). However, the benefits of using MOMS can only be realized through successful design, implementation, and smooth functional integration. Previous studies have highlighted the advantages of MOMS, but it is required to follow a methodology that combines international standards with industry-specific characteristics. This study proposes a two-step approach, starting with an initial assessment and MOMS design, to develop an architecture specifically customized for Gas Processing Facilities. The new architecture emphasizes both the information structure and functional aspects of MOMS, ensuring seamless integration from the process level to the business level. The proposed MOMS architecture has received positive feedback from partners involved in the study, confirming its suitability. Future work should focus on activities such as prototype development, evaluating the underlying models, and conducting field studies to assess the overall system performance.
