Technique for Restoring the Parameters of the Mathematical Model of Oil Refining Processes

This work is devoted to the study of the process of oil refining. The purpose of the work is to develop a methodology for finding approximate values of the parameters of a mathematical model that describes the process of oil refining. A mathematical model of the oil refining process has been built. Within the framework of the constructed model, the inverse problem of restoring its parameters is posed. The concentrations of substances were measured at different points in time. The measured concentrations of substances were used to solve the inverse problem. Namely, we used a technique based on the finite difference method, the interpolation method, and the Tikhonov regularization method. As a result of calculations, instead of the exact solution of the inverse problem, an approximation to it is found, which is unique and continuously depends on the initial data. To determine the appropriate value of the regularization parameter, depending on the information about the error of the initial data, the method of generalized discrepancy or the method of choosing quasi-optimal values of the regularization parameter was used. Using the found approximate values of the parameters, it is possible to analyze, predict and control the change over time in the concentration of products in the oil refining process.
