Spectral Methods for Estimating the Dynamic Error of Navigation Devices

The article considers the existing methods and equipment for estimating the dynamic characteristics of navigation devices. New methods for estimating the dynamic error of devices and systems based on the reproduction of pseudo-random oscillations in a given frequency spectrum corresponding to the operating conditions of the device are proposed. The methods are adapted for use on existing test equipment and make it possible to simplify the experimental assessment of the dynamic error when controlling the characteristics of serial products. The results of the application of the developed methods in Concern CSRI Elektropribor, JSC, in solving problems of assessing the dynamic errors of an electronic inclinometer and a magnetic compass are presented. The results of experimental studies are consistent with the previously obtained results of field studies. The developed methods make it possible to reduce the time for estimating the dynamic error of mass-produced sensors and devices to 15-20 minutes, because do not require measurements at each frequency separately, in addition, they allow estimating the error of instruments in real modes of its operation.
