Comparative Analysis of Acoustic Signals and Visual Images of High-Voltage Discharge in Transformer Oil

The article is devoted to the study of the parameters of electrical, acoustic and visual signals recorded on an experimental setup that simulates various defects in power transformers. The article presents a comparative analysis of acoustic signals and visual images of high-voltage discharges in transformer oil. Acoustic signals in operation were obtained using a digital acoustic diagnostics system, and visual images corresponding to various operating modes of the transformer were recorded using a high-speed, high-resolution camera. The article provides a description of a simulator with an extended set of power transformer defects encountered during operation. In this work, electrodes of various shapes are studied, simulating possible defects in power transformers during operation. The electrical parameters of various defects were analyzed in the "low", "stable" and "powerful" modes, corresponding to different voltage levels on the electrodes. The analysis of the corresponding visual images, including the size of the electric plasma, the presence and quantitative parameters of the bubbles of the emitted gases, is performed.
