Asymmetric Modes of Operation of Linear Asynchronous Electric Motors

Mathematical modeling for the operation modes of the inductor of a linear asynchronous electric motor (LAEM) was performed when the phases of the winding are connected in the «triangle» and «star» circuits. A model for operational aging of the inductor is proposed. On its basis, the indicators of the asymmetry for the inductor currents over the LAEM lifetime were calculated. Calculations for the electromagnetic field and mechanical characteristics of the LAEM with symmetric and elliptical excitation currents have been carried out. Powering the LAEM from a symmetrical voltage source in technical systems in which the efficiency of the electric drive does not significantly affect the efficiency of the entire system is recognized to be substantiated, and the increased dimensions of the electric drive being compensated by the rejection of the reduction devices and the conversion of the movement type.
