Some New Results of Dynamic Infrared Radiation Characteristics of Midcourse Ballistic Targets

Infrared radiation characteristics are important for target detection and recognition. In this paper, a comprehensive calculation model is proposed for midcourse targets. Firstly, the motion model of the target is built based on minimum energy trajectory theory. And then, the thermal radiation environment of the target and the surface temperature of the target is analyzed and calculated through node network method. At last, combining target’s own radiation with the radiation of the Sun and the Earth, the calculation method of target’s infrared radiation tensity is given. Some new results of cone-shaped targets illustrate the different radiation characteristics of targets with different coatings in light and shadow. The results can also be extended to other targets with different shapes and micro-motion, providing a basis for next target recognition.
