Design and Simulation of 3.3 kW EV Charger

This paper presents the design and simulation of a 3.3 kW EV charger utilizing interleaved boost PFC (Power Factor Correction) and phase-shifted full bridge converter(PSFB). The objective is to develop an efficient charging system capable of meeting the demands of electric vehicles. The interleaved boost PFC converter is employed to enhance power quality, minimize reactive power drawn from the grid, and improve overall efficiency. The phase-shifted full bridge converter enables smooth operation and efficient power delivery to the EVs battery. MATLAB-based simulations are conducted to optimize the charger's performance, considering factors such as power factor correction, voltage regulation, and load transient response. The proposed charger is designed to work with different types of electric two-wheeler batteries, providing adjustable voltage and current levels. Simulation results demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed design, showcasing high efficiency, low ripple, and reliable charging performance. The study contributes to the development of advanced EV charging solutions, promoting sustainable transportation and reducing reliance on fossil fuels.
