Error Experiment of 600-2000A/ 5A Current Transformer Based on Improved Core Material

For adapting to the measurement of wide range current and avoid economic losses in the power grid, this paper first uses improved iron core materials to manufacture a new electromagnetic current transformer. The external dimensions of the new current transformer have not changed compared to ordinary transformers, but the iron core material is different. Then, in order to verify whether the error of the new CT meets the requirements, and to verify the error consistency of the prototype, this paper made 10 transformer prototypes with different primary current ratings. Finally, this paper designed and produced a prototype error testing platform, which can simultaneously test the errors of 10 transformers. The test results show that the error of the transformer using the new core material meets the accuracy requirement of 0.2
$\mathbf{s}$
and has good consistency. Therefore, this new transformer can be called a wide-range electromagnetic CT.
