Testing and Analysis of Electromagnetic Interference on BPL Near-Field Timing Service

Compared with satellite timing service, BPL timing service has strong anti-interference capability, which is the best backup and supplementary for satellites. In order to verify the high stability of near-field timing service, the paper set up an experiment to test electromagnetic interference on BPL receiving within 100km radius. The results showed closer to high-power equipment such as air-conditioning reduced the signal amplitude over 70%, and timing precision appeared microseconds jumping to be unstable. Even in the near-field environment within 30km radius, the strong-power equipment such as the 5G base station easily reduced the electric field intensity over 40%, and the receivers might lost tracking and fail to timing. In conclusion the paper gave the suggestion of selecting BPL receiver location.
