Energy Management System of Electric Motorcycles for Power Boost

This paper proposes a new Energy Management System called the Hybrid Battery System (HBS) for electric motorcycles. The HBS consists of a main battery and a sub-battery equipped with an H-bridge converter. This system can control a wide power range to address limitations in driving and regeneration capabilities. It enhances instant acceleration performance by power boost and also reduces energy losses during regeneration. Furthermore, a charging mode of the sub-battery while driving is proposed.
