Numerical Simulation of Ash and Slag Deposition in Supercritical Tangential Boiler

Zhundong coalfield is the largest complete coalfield in China, but the coal in this area contains a large amount of alkali metal elements. Its combustion mode is different from that of ordinary steam coal, showing obvious ash scaling and slagging tendency. The 660 MW tangentially fired coal-fired power generation boiler is used as the research object in this paper. A three-dimensional geometric model of the boiler’s structure is built, and numerical simulation is used to examine the boiler’s combustion status and wall deposition. When the boiler operates at different loads, it is mainly to close some burners to adjust the load. Therefore, this paper studies the deposition characteristics of coal ash after pulverized coal combustion in different layers of burners, and analyzes the slagging trend of furnace water wall. The results are as follows: The deposition rate is negatively correlated with the height and position of the burner. The higher the position is, the lower the deposition rate is. The deposition at the cold ash hopper mainly comes from the lower two layers of burners. The deposition rate at the furnace is the highest. The deposition of particles from each layer of burners on the upper part of the boiler is basically the same.
