Numerical Simulation of Micro-encapsulated Carbon Dioxide Absorber Mass Transfer Process Using Comsol

After being meshed with Comsol simulation software, a two-dimensional model is established, and after setting the boundary conditions, the concentration field and its variation over time are simulated. Individual micro-capsule particles are modeled to simulate the variation of CO
2
concentration within the micro-capsule absorbents with the inflow of CO
2
gas concentration. The simulation results indicate that the CO
2
concentration in the capsule membrane is the highest and decreases dramatically when it reaches the interface with the absorbent due to the chemical absorption reaction. Moreover, the concentration of inflowing CO
2
gas has a significant influence on the material distribution throughout the region. As the concentration of inflowing gas increases, the gas concentration on both sides of the membrane also increases, leading to an acceleration in the reaction rate.
