A Novel Integrated IPT Receiver by Shorting the Coil and Shielding Layer

IPT (Inductive Power Transfer) is currently one of the most successful commercialized WPT (Wireless Power Transfer) technologies. Nowadays, as the wireless charging scene becomes more and more miniaturized, integrated modules play a particularly crucial role. However, classical IPT receivers require extra compensating network with less integration. This paper proposes a self-resonant terminal short-circuit structure that utilize parasitic capacitors as the compensating components. In terms of magnetic field radiation and electric field radiation, the novel structure offers better shielding effect against the classical one. Moreover, the system with novel design achieves high-efficiency output at high impedance (above 1 kΩ), with measured efficiency more than 70%.
