Open-circuit fault-tolerant control of power switch for two-level three-phase motor inverter

A fault-tolerant control method based on Reconstruct space vector modulation (RESVM) and current optimization control (COC) is proposed for the operation effect of two-level three-phase motor inverter in the case of open-circuit fault of power switches. In the case of open-circuit failure of inverter switch, the ratio of invalid vector in reference voltage vector is reduced by reconstructing effective voltage vector and zero voltage vector respectively, so as to realize the ability of giving and providing the maximum torque output of the system following reference voltage vector. Through COC, the current can be adjusted more efficiently and stably under fault condition. Simulation and experiments show that this method can significantly reduce the torque ripple and speed ripple of the motor in the case of open-circuit switch failure without adding any hardware redundancy.
