Numerical Simulation of Practical Control Measures of Deflection Difference in Bridge Widening

In order to reduce the deflection difference between the edges of existing deck and new deck in the bridge widening project, numerical simulation is conducted to analyse the three deflection difference control measures: traffic limitation, pouring the diaphragm before pouring the joint, and pouring the wet joint in different time sections. The results show that these three deflection difference control measures can significantly reduce the deflection difference during the bridge widening.
