Discussion on the Focus of the Post-Graduate Mathematical Contest in Modeling

“For twenty years, our initial aspiration to forge ahead and excel in mathematical contest in modeling remains unchanged.” On the occasion of the twentieth anniversary of China post-graduate mathematical contest in modeling, this article discusses some focal issues of mathematical modeling training that teachers in universities and colleges are concerned about: how to build a coaching team, give lectures on mathematical modeling, and balance the uneven level of post-graduates' mathematical modeling skills, how to use visualization in modeling, and how to improve postgraduates' programming skills. This article shares experience in the training of mathematical contest in modeling, and cultivates innovative talents among postgraduates.
