A Study on Spectral Characteristics of Star-Shaped Nanoparticles Based on the Finite Element Algorithm

With strong surface plasmon characteristics, star-shaped nanoparticles are widely applied in the fields of Raman test, photovoltaic efficiency enhancement and refractive index sensing. In this paper, the spectral characteristics of star-shaped nanoparticles with different morphologies are studied with the finite element numerical calculation method. The results show that star-shaped nanoparticles have stronger surface plasmon characteristics than spherical nanoparticles; The wavelength position and intensity corresponding to the surface plasmon resonance peak of gold nanostars are closely related to the core size, branch angle length and sharpness angle of star-shaped nanoparticles. The larger the core, the longer the branch angle length, and the sharper the tip are, the stronger the surface plasmon effect will be. When the nanostars form a chain structure, the surface plasmon resonance effect is more intense, which can enhance the electric field strength by 7×10

times. These findings provide theoretical basis for the application of star-shaped nanoparticles.
