Radiation Pattern Evaluation of the High-gain Antennas Based on the Electrooptic Near-field Measurements and Direct Far-field Measurements

We demonstrate that the far-field patterns of the high-gain antennas (about 50 dBi) obtained based on the near-field measurements using the electrooptic probe in the table-top system and the direct far-field measurements with the antenna separation of 13.5 m are in good agreement with each other. The results show that the near-field measurements based on photonics techniques using low-disturbance electrooptic probes will pave the way for the evaluation of high-gain antennas in the Beyond 5G/6G era.
