Demonstration of obstacle-tolerant wireless transmission at 300 GHz using Bessel beam

We demonstrate through the wireless transmission experiments that the Bessel beam is more tolerant to the obstacle than the plane wave by measuring the impact on the BER at 1 Gbps. We experimentally confirmed that the power distribution behind the obstacle was significantly disturbed in the case of the plane wave, while the original shape was roughly maintained even behind the obstacle in the case of the Bessel beam. We believe that the Bessel beams will be the key to realizing obstacle tolerant THz wireless channels in the Beyond 5G/6G era.
