HINOTORI and its perspective

This summary paper describes the technical achievements of the Hybrid Integration Project in Nobeyama, Tripleband Oriented (HINOTORI) promoted with the Nobeyama 45 m telescope and discusses the scientific perspectives of the project. It enables us to conduct triple-bands (22, 43, and 86 GHz) simultaneous observations in the single-dish and VLBI modes. The results of early-stage scientific observations in the single-dish mode are also presented. They have demonstrated that the efficiency of observation operations is significantly improved. New science cases also can be explored including spectral lines whose detections are challenging but which will shed light on their properties with possible correlation with other lines simultaneously observed in the common line of sight. On the other hand, the VLBI capability with data calibration across the observed bands and the polarization conversion technique are the present challenging issues in the new system.
