TFT Application Requirements and Possible Limits

Thin film transistor application is mainly on the active matrix flat panels today but has been spread to other products. There are 3 types of functions that thin film transistors perform in these applications: to control an attached device, to be a switching unit in the circuit, or to serve as a sensing element. Examples of these functions are given and discussed. Limitations on future applications and directions for solving them will be discussed.
