Face Recognition Based on PCA Method

Face recognition is a kind of biometric recognition technology. Compared with other biometric recognition techniques such as iris recognition gait recognition and so on face recognition technology starts later but its application is more extensive. Although face recognition technology has been widely used in different fields and industries, it is still one of the more difficult topics because of the very similar facial structure between people, and the face shape and surface are affected by many factors. For the above reasons, face recognition based on principal component analysis (PCA) algorithm is studied in this paper. A face recognition system is designed by using MATLAB software, and the system is tested by ORL database. The recognition rate can reach 77%.
