Optimization Design of Roof PV Array Topology Based on Matlab and PVsyst

Objective: The tilt angle, inter-row spacing, and internal resistance are critical parameters for rooftop photovoltaic (PV) arrays. This study aims to design a 10kW rooftop PV array topology for the Yiwu region, with the objectives of reducing internal resistance and determining the optimal tilt angle and inter-row spacing for PV arrays in Yiwu. Methods: The PV array structure is thoroughly investigated, and a PV array topology is meticulously designed using MATLAB/Simulink software to minimize the internal resistance. The optimal tilt angle and inter-row spacing specific to the Yiwu region are simulated and studied using PVsyst software. Results: Through simulated experiments, it is determined that the optimized array structure can decrease the internal resistance by 5.45% compared to the conventional layout. The annual optimal tilt angle for a 10kW PV array in Yiwu is established at 29° with an optimal inter-row spacing of 3.6 meters. The system efficiency reaches a commendable 85.8%. Conclusion: This research successfully designs a 10kW rooftop PV array topology aimed at reducing internal resistance and determining the optimal tilt angle and inter-row spacing for PV arrays in the Yiwu region. The findings hold significant importance for the development of the solar energy industry in Yiwu. The study contributes to the academic discourse surrounding PV array optimization and provides valuable insights for industry practitioners.
