Topology Reconfigurable Series Resonant Converter with Fixed-frequency PWM Control for Ultra Wide Voltage Applications

This paper proposes a topology reconfigurable series resonant converter with fixed-frequency pulse width modulation (PWM) control for chargers of electric vehicles in ultra wide voltage applications. Both sides of the switches adopt PWM control, which can achieve load independent voltage regulation and full range soft switching. In addition, by topology reconstruction, the converter operates in multiple operation modes, thereby achieving an exceptional 8-fold ultra wide voltage regulation range. A simulation model is developed, including an input voltage range of 100-800V and an output voltage of 400V. The simulation results affirm the reliability and validity of the proposed model.
