Dung Beetle Optimizer Algorithm Based OPF Solution considering Renewable Energy Sources

This paper introduces the Dung Beetle Optimizer (DBO), a novel meta-heuristic algorithm designed for solving the optimal power flow (OPF) problem while considering the integration of solar and wind energy sources. As these sources exhibit stochastic behavior, it is crucial for the system operator (SO) to account for their inherent uncertainty to achieve significantly more accurate results. Consequently, the estimation of solar and wind power generation relies on the utilization of Log-normal and Weibull probability density functions, respectively. To showcase the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm in addressing the OPF problem, it is implemented on both standard and modified IEEE 30-bus system within the MATLAB programming environment. The outcomes of the DBO algorithm are extensively evaluated and compared against various other optimization methods. These comprehensive comparative analyses conclusively demonstrate the reliability and effectiveness of the proposed approach in effectively tackling intricate power system challenges. In the realm of hybrid power systems, the proposed DBO algorithm holds potential as a valuable decision-making tool for system operators, offering significant assistance in navigating complex decision-making scenarios.
